Pantry Share

Ethan donating fresh spinach to the Decorah Community Food Pantry

We believe that good food should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we would like to offer supporters of our farm the opportunity to purchase a “Pantry Share” to help us give back to the Decorah area community that has been so supportive of us.

How it works

When you give, 100% of the amount that you give goes towards feeding the community. We will add all of the Pantry Share funds to an account for the Decorah Community Food Pantry. Each week, we’ll send the pantry a list of items that we have available on the farm. The pantry will use the money that you have given to purchase our produce and distribute it to their clients.

How it helps

In partnership with the Decorah Community Food Pantry, your donation will have the power to do two good things at once.

First, you will be giving the Decorah Community Food Pantry the opportunity to stock their shelves with produce that their clients are looking for at no cost to the pantry. This will provide fresh produce on a weekly basis at no cost to community members who need it. Second, you will be compensating the farmers who worked hard to grow that produce.

Can’t I just donate directly to the food pantry?

You certainly can, but there are many items the pantry may need that we can’t supply and we would prefer that they use those funds for goods that can’t be sourced from local farmers.

Our decision to partner with the food pantry comes from a desire to get our produce to those among us who are most in need and who can best take advantage of the food that we’re growing. With your help, we can stock the pantry shelves with items that pantry clients need the most to provide nutritious meals for their families.

By purchasing a Pantry Share, you’re not only making it possible for the pantry to offer fresh, healthy, and locally-grown food to our community at no cost to the pantry. You’re allowing a couple of local growers to keep growing food!
