It's hard to imagine right now, but it will be her It's hard to imagine right now, but it will be here before you know it! Pictured below is the box of veggies we gave our Weekly CSA Box customers for their first weekly box in mid-June last year. It included carrots, radishes, lettuce mix, kohlrabi, radishes, green garlic, and kale.

It is always a fun challenge to provide a wide diversity of vegetables so early in the season way up north in Decorah! Unfortunately farmers aren't magicians. There is a lot of planning, work, and re-planning that goes into making all that food happen.

We are in the midst of baby plant growing season right now. Our onions, lettuce, cabbages, and more are already seeded in greenhouse trays and we're about to start on our warm season crops like tomatoes and peppers.

If you’re interested in joining any of our CSA programs (4-week Spring CSA Box, 16-week Weekly CSA Box, or Market Share CSA) please visit the link in our bio and fill out our form to save your spot!
We owe a big thanks to Ethan's sister Erika who ca We owe a big thanks to Ethan's sister Erika who came out to help us on the farm several times over the past year. There's always an overwhelming amount of work to do on the farm.

It means a lot, especially as beginners, to have family and friends who are willing and even eager to come help. It takes a lot of human power to make this kind of farming happen and we couldn't do it without you. THANK YOU!
Hooray for more covered space! It might look like Hooray for more covered space! It might look like bare ground, but to us it looks like greens, peppers, eggplant, and cucumbers.

Here’s your March reminder that your farmers are already putting in the hard work it takes to make sure you have a full array of local veggies all summer.

If you are a veggie eater in Decorah, we hope you’ll consider joining our CSA this year. There are lots of ways to participate, from our 16-week Weekly CSA Box to our new Spring CSA to our Market Share CSA starting at $50.

If you would like to use a payment plan or EBT, please message us—let’s talk!
Okay, now it's Farmer Carly's turn for introductio Okay, now it's Farmer Carly's turn for introductions.

Favorite vegetable: Shishito peppers

Favorite vegetable to grow: Tomatoes! They aren't always easy but it's so much fun to try new varieties and new methods every year and hopefully grow enough to eat all year long.

Vegetable you're most excited to grow this year: Edamame is one of my favorites, but I didn't realize how much other people like it too until it was a surprise hit at @decorah_farmers_market last year. I'm excited to grow more of it.

Recipe you're dying to make this season: Paella

Best moment of last season: Eating our produce on the menu at new places like @blazingstareats and @waterstreetdeli!

Why you started farming: I wanted to learn everything about the food system and to find my place in it. When I discovered how much I enjoyed growing vegetables, it unlocked my path.

What keeps you farming: I want to help other people discover that same joy and sense of connection to their food. I'm excited to get more people out to the farm in 2023!
